Yes, I have seen the real time segment you mention, in it you see the fall to the ground. I recall it to be futher away from the action and also more to the left. Eddie Adams was standing much closer to the action than that cameraman. Therefore I don't think the famous photo is not a frame from a motion picture camera. Don't know about the Pulitzer though.
