Or, simply stick the cord up into the hat. They are nerdy looking. But like
the Timex, they take a beating and keep on ticking. When it's really hot,
soak it and wear it wet. When it's filthy, throw it in the washing machine.
Spray it with some Scotchguard and it repels water. Stick a few bills,
passport, what ever, in the "pocket" in the crown. Shove it in your camera
bag. It's perhaps the ideal utilitarian skull covering.

The back cord goes around the base of my skull at the back.  The front part
is tucked into the pocket inside the hat.
