Jerry,

There is nothing wrong (aesthetically or technically)
with cross dressing our Leicas with chrome or black
lenses.  I use ancient 1930 era lenses bought on the
cheap on my 1999 $2000 Leica M6 right along with
current Leica lenses.  It is all part of the beauty of
the Leica M system that one can do such things.
