Subject: [Leica] Re: reflecting on the 70-180mm and tripods

Some two years ago I trekked around the Antarctica for some two weeks. I
used only the 70-180 lens and a tripod. Being 65 yrs old I have really come
to appreciate not only that fine lens but also the benefits of using a tripod
in general. Now I almost never without a tripod (usually a Gitzo 1228) and
my 70-180, my 100mm and the 35-70 ASPH. What more does one need. (I find
that almost everything else is fattening, illegal, or immoral)

Any Texas Luggers interested in trying to get together in the Big Bend for a
weekend shoot. I sometimes ranch in that area and would be glad to help host
such an event.
