A few years ago a local photographer  here in CA obtained a significant
judgement against a nY sculptor. Ths sculptor copied a post card shot of
the photographer's neighbors and some puppies. The copies were lifesize
ceramic sculptures made by art students in the employ of the "sculptor"
and many were sold for $15,000 as his work. The photographer received a
judgemant of $15,000 for every copy sold.
