The drive behind the Contax SLR was Zeiss, who first tried to cut a deal
with Asahi and then turned to Yashica. Kyocera was no where in the picture
at the time. Yashica subsequently went bankrupt and Kyocera bought them
out of bankruptcy and have been grand partners to Zeiss.

There is no "Contax-Kyocera" partnership. The partnership is Zeiss and
Kyocera.
