Tell that to the Franklin Mint. >> Does anyone know what percentage of Leica goods are sold to people who use the equipment to make a living (pros) and what percentage is sold to those who either collect the equipment (collectors) or just like to own and tinker around with Leica equipment (amateurs)? Isn't it likely that most of the Leica M and R series equipment sold by Leica is to those who do not use the equipment to make a living using it? Could it be true that if it were not for collectors and amateurs, there would be no Leica equipment at all? Rather than ridiculing collectors and amateurs, it might be better form to encourage them to collect and use the equipment thus creating a larger market for Leica equipment.
