Subject: [Leica] 50mm f2.8 Elmar performance

In the next month or so I am sending in an old style 50mm f2.8 Elmar to
Sherry for a front element replacement and CLA.. My question to those of you
who have a lens of this type. What f stop have you found to be the sweet
spot? I am suspecting, by my informal tests on the lens in its present
condition that its optimal f stop would be f4 to f5.6.

I intend to use this as I like its collapsible nature when light is
sufficient for stopping the lens down.
