The following three sites are a treasure trove of Leica info. Go ye
and seek thereupon, and ye shall be enlightened.

My quick recommendation for a three-lens travel kit?

An M6 of any style or vintage
A 35/2.0 Summicron ASPH or the recent pre-ASPH version
A 50/2.0 Summicron - the recentish one with the detachable hood
A 90/2.8 Elmarit-M (or the thin Tele-Elmarit if weight is a concern)

This is one of the canonical (sorry) travel kits for Leica M.
