plates for electric dry cells (see  Battery); and for die castings. Zinc
oxide, known as zinc white or Chinese white, is used as a paint pigment. It
is also used as a filler in rubber tires and is employed in medicine as an
antiseptic ointment. Zinc chloride is used as a wood preservative and as a
soldering fluid.

In addition, I know zinc acetate is being used in lozenges to fight colds,
zinc oxide as a sun screen, zinc coating for nuts, bolts, screws and washers
to combat corrosion, and die cast as components on cars such as door handles
and lionel trains.

I deal with companies that make zinc components and sell instrumentation for
the analysis of zinc and zinc based materials.
