...Whether this has less to do with Leica Envy than it does with the fact
that, to many, the R8 is just plain "weird" in terms of its design and feel.
I understand that there are many on this list who think the ergonomics are
spectacular, etc. But there are others who don't like the design. As I have
commented before, on "playing" with an R8 at a dealer I was struck by what I
considered the cheap, plasticy feel of the camera, particularly for a Leica.

The OM-3 feels, if nothing else, solid and traditional. Perhaps that,
coupled with the odd look and feel of the R8 - and the enormous price
differential - is what caused the test outcome.
