The R-7 is nice but the R-8 is much better. You can use the three different metering patterns with all of the different modes the camera will work in, this is not true with the R-7. The glass you mention is all good but you'll want to go with the 80-200 F4/ a much better lens. If you can do the 70-180 2.8 apo, then you'll have the very best of any that anyone is making. I prefer the 90 f2, not for the speed but for the fact that the color and sharpness are the best of the two offerings.
