Have you tried the Metz 40 MZ 3i. not had any trouble with it. But have
had the same things happen with an SB-28 as you've had with the Metz MZ
3. Over all I'm getting much better images and better negs with the Leica
Metz combo than with the Nikon F-5 and SB-28.
