Alas-
I saw "Blowup"- of course I had been into photography for about five years
already, and just 'knew' it was all theatrical license... but wouldn't it be
nice to have a camera that actually did that? and perhaps a cellular phone
like they use on the "X-Files"? Call anywhere, anytime even 300 feet
underground, and get a signal?
Actually- an extreme blowup is and was possible with a Leica!
I will forever be impressed with a shot of the town of Wetzlar that a friend
took. He used a Leica M2 and with a tripod, and using TechPan- photographed
the town from a high spot. He had the 20x30 inch enlargement in his store-
almost totally grain free, and the lens actually resolved the telephone
lines in the town, and facial features on people that had to be almost a
kilometer away!
I guess if Leitz had made an 8x10 camera- "Blowup" would not have been such
a fanciful trip!
