Lots of endeavors are like that, Ted. Golf is a perfect example.
There are 'feel' players (Fuzzy Zoeller is typical along with a host
of others) and 'technicians' (Nick Faldo is typical along with a host
of others).

Either method can and does work well. Me? Why, with my usual
ambivalance, I try to combine both methods in my photography
and golf. THAT is why I'll never excel at either, but continue to
love both with a passion.

Ah, but the players need an appreciative audience, NOT?
