M6 film loading:
tupence worth-- The only times I have a problem loading the M6 have been
with Kodachrome film, where I like to get that extra slide -- (I'm a
very cheap bastard), and I don't pull the leader out quite as far as I
should. Otherwise, if I pull the leader so that it crosses the mid line
of the take up prongs when dropped in, put the bottom on and wind slowly
it just has never failed. By habit, I tighten the rewind lever after the
first advance, and always watch it spin, but the system is really very
reliable, but you MUST put the baseplate on before winding, as the
system relies on the basket sitting on the undersurface to coax the film
in ;-)

Cheers
