After all: 1. One of the major uses/advantages of the Leica is its use in low/available light - which negates the use of flash; 2. A higher flash sync would in all likelihood require a new/noisier shutter - defeating the purpose of the M; 3. There are already any number of incredibly good flash systems available from N, C - end even from L, if you don't need a motor drive. The world needs another high-speed synch and fill-flash the way Dr. Black Tape needs a Red Dot. If they want to "improve" the M, they should eliminate the flare in the otherwise excellent viewfinder, give the camera the kind of viewfinder magnification system that Canon pioneered long before the birth of many LUGers, and add a spot meter option to an otherwise mediocre metering system. But that's just Dr. Black Tape's wish list, and doesn't mean anything more than that. :-) - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Mark Rabiner Sent: Wednesday, June 23, 1999 2:21 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Re: Leica prototype Andre Jean Quintal wrote: ><snip> I agree with you Andre it is not an issue of changing the M6 but sending up some other flags and see which fly. One of them could hit and support the company so it can continue with its noble classical engineering. I'm not quoting you here but I think most of this thought is shared. Mark Rabiner
