Steve,

You will surely be surprized to see a lot of Leica stuff and Leicaphiles in
Tokyo. The prices of new equipment have become less attractive, but those
of used stuff are not bad. You have to choose shops. Otherwise you will
spend a whole week to visit major shops alone. I would recommend Lemon Co,
4-3-14 Ginza (tel. 3467-4581). It is a largest Leica dealer in Japan and
one of the largest in the world. When I lived there I bought (and sold) a
lot of Leica stuff at an consigment unit of this shop. You will find
reasonably priced items. I saw a LN 100/2.8R (1500 USD), several mint M6's
(1200 USD), etc in April.

Good luck.

I will be in Tokyo in a few weeks and wonder if the
price of used and new Leica equipment has fallen as a
result of their severe economic problems. Any data
and suggestions of camera stores to visit would be
appreciated. As I recall, there is an area of Tokyo
where many photo stores are clustered, but I cannot
remember where it is or what it is called. Age!!
