Low cost 'art' camera hits headlines

A novel little camera has come to the attention of BJP that is causing
quite a stir with creatives around the world. Available by mail order from
Altrincham-based Incognito, the Russian Lomo Action Sampler is a cheap
plastic camera with four lenses that shoots four separate images onto one
35mm frame at quarter of a second intervals. The film is then processed at
a standard photofinisher.

The original Lomo Kompakt Automat spawned a cult following and the birth of
the Lomographic Society in Vienna. Fans include Fidel Castro, Yasser
Arafat, Brian Eno and Jarvis Cocker. The Lomo Action Sampler model sells at
19 pounds in the UK and comes with an instruction guide.
