Dave,
I totally agree with you.  Leica USA told me not long ago that "Our =
policy is our business and we don't have to explain it to you". I'm =
surprised they didn't throw in a few insults as well -- as in my case. =20
I think it's time for Solms to put an end to the "demo" problem, to =
dealers selling both USA and Gray Market cameras, and since we are at it =
- -- to fire some of this SOBs at Leica USA.
I hope the situation doesn't  affect Minox as well, even though things =
were never too good to start with.  A few years back I called Minox USA =
to see if they could repair my camera (under warranty) in two weeks. =
Silence -- REPAIRMAN "Well, I can't fix it over the phone".  After I =
told them that I would send a letter to Germany, they finally came to =
their senses.
I'm a bit tired of this "we are doing you a favor" attitude that we are =
seeing so often now days.
And as someone who once worked for Leica told me (about the Leica R =
system) "A piece of shit is a piece of shit, no matter if it's wrapped =
in gold".
