The threads on any filter and on the shade *must* be exceedingly thin because as you focus this lens, the lens barrel moves out and covers the filter threads. Therefore, only attachments with the very *thinnest* of threads can be used. The shade that comes with the lens obviously works. Also, ONLY B+W 67EW filters will work. Or the rimless, all glass, special order filters, that fit in the shade. Be careful what you buy, without testing first !!! Jim
