If you use the PC lens, you can handhold it, but be ready for some weird results! The way to fully utilise the correction feature is to put it on a tripod, level the camera as well as possible -( NB- I got a few little bubble levels at the lumberyard/home improvement store- they are about 3-4 cm long and have a keyring at the end. They are about $1 apiece, and are great for tossing into the bag and using to level tripods! if you have similar store, try to find some- if you don't, give me a holler privately and I can send you one!) The true beauty of your parallel lines doesn't happen until that puppy is bolted down securely and LEVEL! I have even done "Panoramic" shot- shifting side to side, and 'cutting and pasting' the resultant images! If you do architectural photography, it's a Godsend, and if you use it as a regular 28 WA lens, without shifting, then handholding is adequate, and the results are on a par with the 28 Elmarit, as far as I can tell (8x10) Dan - -----Original Message----- From: Pascal <cyberdog@ibm.net> To: Leica Users Group <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Date: Friday, May 28, 1999 3:40 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] 28 mm-R PC Super-Angulon >Bernard: > >is it necessary to use the PC Super Angulon on a tripod or can you take >handheld shots? >I have read somewhere that it would be unfeasible to use this lens >without a tripod. > >Other question: can this lens be double-used as a "normal" 28mm ?
