Wow, I'm starting to think that we take our local Leica dealer here in
Seattle for granted.  They always have a generous selection of 60mm B+W
filters on hand, as well as 46s and 39s, just for thier Leica customers...

Not much choice in the 60mm suppliers.  Leica and B+W are the only I could
find.  I did have a used lens that came with a multicoated 60mm Hoya, but
the 60mm filter size is not listed by Hoya in Canada.  I would not bother
with the stepping ring either.  I tried a 60-58 on a Leica 70-210 and found
when I mounted my 58mm polarizer, the lens would not focus to infinity.  I
think it was from the filter vignetting and acting like a second aperture
in the lens system and throwing off the focus.

As with most things Leica, you just have to bite the bullet and order the
expensive Leica or B+W filters.  In the case of the B+W filters, mine had
to come from Germany and were not stocked by the Canadian wholesaler.  This
took about a month.
