My 9000 and my new 9 both have secure switches that let you choose MF or AF. There is no way for that switch to change positions by itself. My now departed 9xi had a toggle switch that worked fine with me but reportedly caused problems with some other users. In any case, it was *supposed* to let you toggle between MF and AF, and in my case worked. Dan C.
