Eric,
I did once find a Leica at a flea market! (We call them Car Boot sales here -
people seem to sell things from their car boot, AKA car trunk over there...)
The place opened at 6am, I got to this stall just before 8, in theory all the
good stuff should have gone, I spotted this Leica, a IIIf and asked to have a
look.
Whilst I checked the v/f and the slow shutter speeds I asked what he wanteed
for it.
"30 pounds" was the reply (about $45)
And when I mentioned that the slow speeds were sticky he said that was noted
by the last guy that looked at it!!!!
Someone else had looked at it and not bought it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I negotiated a lower price, 25 pounds, and then realised I was short of
cash, aaargh!
Having to persuade him to take a cheque wasn't easy but eventually we did the
deal and he insisted on an extra 'fiver' because of it.
However, I took it home cleaned it up and thought it had been a little grubby
it was exc++ underneath. Sitting on top of the boiler eased the lubricant a
little and the shutter ran fine, the Elmar was clear and I ended up selling it
that afternoon at a camera fair for a tidy 255 pounds profit!
I thought I might get too attached to it if I kept it any longer, I've got
more cameras than I can use at once as it is.

So these things are seen, but rarely I suspect!
