I disagree Jim.  I found VS to have a bit less contrast than Velvia, and a
wonderful ability not to oversaturate a blue sky as Velvia does.  My
comparison was side by side with shots taken outdoors.

IMHO,

Unfortunately, E100VS does have the contrast of Velvia. It has the most
brilliant, saturated Red I have ever seen. Yellow and Green are right up
there too. It seems to handle underexposure a little better than Velvia,
builds up contrast and saturation (a Kodak trait), while Velvia simply goes
muddy by losing it's shadow density.

As Donal said. This seems to be a good film for publication. Not so great
for slide shows. It will scan well.
