*Best 50mm LTM lens=20
*Best price for collapsible Elmar 2.8/3.5
*Was compact cam, now elmar 2.8
=20
Years ago the late Bob Schwalberg did an article on these subjects. He =
claimed that a 50mm Elmar f3.5 (not the f2.8) will frequently outperform =
a lens with a more complex design - when stopped down in bright light. =
The reason being that a lens with four elements is less prone to flare =
than a MC lens with a more complex optical design - pictures have more =
contrast.
Prices vary greatly depending on condition and source... for SM, from =
$125-$450. The M version was made in limited quantities and sells for =
$450-$550.
So if you take most of your pictures between f8 and f13, the 50mm Elmar =
f3.5 is a cheap alternative.
Just make sure it doesn't show signs of edge separation, haze, excessive =
play, etc..=20
