Looks like Minolta still makes quite Leica-like horizontally running 
cloth focal plane shutters for their manual focus cameras, 
electronic versions did exist until lately. For a rangefinder camera 
the most durable would be titanium foil shutter like in Pentax LX - it 
could be made to fit in Leica body.
