Subject: [Leica] I love the 35 Summilux!!

Hi there List!

I just got my first and second rolls of XP2 Super back with images taken
with my M6 and 35 (non-ASPH) Summilux.... What a great combination!! I'm
awaiting delivery of the lens hood , but this lens is SUPER! I seriously
don't understand the negative comments about the non-ASPH!
I don't have a scanner-my web page is going up this week, mainly for
wedding work, so I can't show images yet-
but I took some shots of a sunset on Silver Beach in Falmouth, Ma (Cape Cod
for you out-of-towners); and there is minimal flare, even shooting pretty
much into the sun....
I like the reduced weight of the non-ASPH (vs. the HEAVY ashp). I'm not
trying to open the flame wars again with a "my lens is as good as yours"
type of thing; I'm sure the ASPH is superior- BUT, for a first Leica 35mm
you CAN'T beat this@!!!!

p.s.- I haven't noticed any scratches on the negs, and if there were. I'd
be more likely to blame the bulk loading/lab/sleeving ......

warm regards,

Bob Keene
