Well Dan,

it worked with the Nikon F2 and F3 with have no other batteries than the
M6. I worked with them at minus -36° degrees two and a half weeks long
non stop in the Canadian winter, doing a reportage about the dogseds in
Canada and there was no problem also with the Leicas - they worked well
without any fall out. I think Leica will get a good product and provide
more flexibility to professional photographers also to private and you
can always choose if you want to go automatic or manual. There is also
the possiblity to put a hybrid shutter into which works for the big part
of shutterspeeds mecanical and elecronical, too.
