I had exactly the same problem with my 21 viewfinder . not only did it looked
cheap , but it was built cheap : mine separated in 2 parts during some
vacations in north of Saudi Arabia , I lost the support bracket . And I don't
tell about the huge quantity of sand dust inside after a trip in the desert .
This item is in high contrast in regard to the quality of the lens itself . 
LEICA COMPAGNY SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF THAT .
Finally I sold the 21mm and the viewfinder . I will probably buy a new one if
Leica Compagny makes a better quality for the price viewfinder .
