It would appear from the text to just be seeking simplicity, and places for typography. The property release issue is a sticky one, one argued long and hard on the StockPhoto list, with vague conclusions. One of my associates makes the argument about photos in factories he does that he doesn't need a property release because the simple fact that he is there indicates approval.
