With manual cameras such as Ms, you must set the aperture on the strobe manually. In rapidly changing light, you are stuck with the aperture you select and whole stop increments for bracketing the ambient. With a camera such as R8 which transfers selected aperture to the strobe, your ability to adapt quickly is much better. The TTL meter in the M is an improvement, but compared to the amazing adaptability of more technologically advanced cameras, it is a dog to use in changing circumstances, especially for shooting critical exposure chromes and working to achieve subtlety in the fill. donal - -- Donal Philby San Diego http://www.donalphilby.com
