On Thursday, April 8, from 5 to 8 pm, we will have the opening reception for the Werner Bischof Memorial (Magnum) exhibition. Marco Bischof (his son) will be there. In the Oskar Barnack Room there will be James C. Romeo's Platinum and Palladium Prints (he will be there). Both shows run through May 15. On Thursday, May 20, from 5 to 8pm, there will be the opening reception for Gianni Berengo Gardin (one of Italy's greatest photographers). His show will be a retrospective of his photographs from 1953-1998. In the Oskar Barnack Room there will be Martin Roberts's "Antique New York Storefronts." Both shows run through June 19. On Thursday, June 24, from 5 to 8 pm, there will be "Russia in Transition: 1978-1998" curated by Jason Eskenazi, who is a Leica photographer and whose work and projects in Russia have just won him a Guggenheim Foundation Grant. There will be many photographers participating (both Russian and foreign) and in the Oskar Barnack Room: Yevgeny Khaldei "Photographs." Both shows run through August 7. We encourage as many LUG members to attend the receptions as the photgraphers are present so that many questions can be asked, etc. Besides, they are a lot of fun. Anyway, that is the schedule through the end of the season. Best regards, Rose and Jay Deutsch / Leica Gallery
