Ben, I believe what you say. :-) A friend of mine recently had his M4 overhauled, and it returned with a new shutter membrane (I heard it is made of material similar to that for parachute. Is it true?). He tells me the shutter sound has changed very much: less harsh and quieter than that of his M6. The repairman told him that old and worn shutter membrane gives noisy sound. Allow me to be meticulous.;-) I have two M6 (classic). Their numbers are both over 2000000. To my ear, one gives louder and more harsh sound (which I dislike) than the other. My wife did not believe it, so we did a test. I had her make a shutter sound, and I listened with my eyes closed. I could tell which of the two she used in nine out of ten. I have to admit that it is hard when the shutter is faster than 1/250. - -- Mikiro Strasbourg, Europe http://members.tripod.com/arbos3/cigogne/index.html ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
