I have used the Leica cassettes for over 40 years and they are really
superior to anything that has been on the market. The consist of a spool,
inner shell and outer shell. When the baseplate cam closes the baseplate, it
also rotates the inner shell so the opening in the inner shell lines up with
the opening in the outer shell thus providing a wide-open path for the film
and nothing touches the film, certainly not fuzzy cloth that is found in
regular cassettes. The Leica cassettes were discontinued at least 20 years
ago and were expensive at that time. They only work with the M series cameras
that have the cam arrangement.
