Although I have found rangefinder focusing to be less than reliable for subjects at the edges of the frame wide open. After you focus and recompose, it is difficult to assure that you are keeping the subject in the exact plane of focus. Perhaps I have a good sample, but my 35 summicron is quite sharp off center at f2, but often, I find that I have missed the focus by a bit. Still, I don't think I've ever made a composition with the subject skirting the edge of the frame, so I've never encountered this problem.
