I do not think they will affect camera lenses exposed to condensation once in a while. Soooooo... what we tropical creatures do is to store our valuable glassware in dehumidifiers so that the relative humidity is kept low at < 50% all the time. BTW, do not let the armchair writers BS you into thinking that when you "go into der tropic", you MUST protect your gear with Silica gel satchets (folks, they are exhausted in 30 seconds flat), plastic bags, water proof bags, and a zillion other suggestions. The bottom line is that if your trip "into der tropics" is under one month and if you use the gear most of the time, you are unlikely to have a fungus problem!! If you do, I can always recommend a good technician. Dan K. 90% RH environment.
