Well I don't have anywhere too exciting to drive, but we live about 5
miles from a wildlife reserve (DeSoto Bend Wildlife Refuge, eastern
Nebraska) and I usually use a SM IIIF reddial and collapsible 50mm
safely tucked in my front pocket of my riding jacket. Easy access and I
can just 'flip up the visor' and still see through the viewfinder ok--
it's so small it fits right into the front of my full face helmet. I
figure if I go down, the IIIF will be the only survivor anyway! ha!
Off topic: NOthing too exciting to drive, but I still have my dad's '68
Yamaha with only 3000 miles on it-- like mint- eh? ha! Had newer bike
before, but sold it for more important goodies (ie Leica MIcroscope and
acc's! )....
I would fear that if you take your best equipment and wrap it like a
crown jewel, you'll never use it for it's true intent: to take
photos/memories and not for collecting! ha! Best of luck with the
tripa nd post some photos somewhere so we can check them out!
