Isn't the bottom line:

Our family may be totally dysfunctional, but it's OUR family, God damnit. So
stop making remarks about Uncle Uncle Ted and what he's doing with his old
shorts, stop complaining that Uncle Jim hasn't read a daily newspaper since
Barry Goldwater lost, and go spend your time with some other group of cranks
more to your liking!
