ALL 2.8/90 Leica lenses until the current model took E39 filters. The current model takes E46 filters. I do not recall anyone suggesting anything to the contrary. The approximate serial number ranges for the various models of the 2.8/90: original Elmarit: 1645301 to 2731900 "fat" Tele-Elmarit 2015701 to 2731900 (exact number unknown) "skinny" Tele-Elmarit 2731901 to ? (1989) current ? (1990) My references crap out in 1988 on lens s/n's, but others with more recent copies of Rogliatti or Laney can fill in the gaps.
