However, I have gotten some very acceptable slide scans from it (a couple of which are on my web page). Depending on the severity of the problem, you may consider getting the scanner serviced or exchanged (depending on your current warranty situation). When I bought mine a little over a year ago, there was a lot of discussion of HP's quality problems with this scanner on the Compuserve Photo Forum, with some people reporting having to exchange the scanner up to 3 times before they had a correctly functioning unit.
