Fritz - one tip I read somewhere which certainly works for my Leica shots (to keep on topic) is that the output dpi you choose should be _exactly_ divisible into the dpi of your printer. The reason for this is to get a precise number of dots per output dpi and thus prevent the printer software from fudging it. On an Epson operating at max 720 or 1440 dpi, 240 dpi would seem ideal for your purposes. Happy printing!
