For the uninitiated, the symbol of the charity is a red clown-like plastic nose which you buy for "Red Nose Day" and wear to work. The red lapel badge is meant as an alternative for those more inhibited of us. The button has the wording "Nose 1999" in small gold letters around it. The lapel button costs £1 ($1.65) of which 70% goes directly to help children throughout the world. The charity raises millions of pounds on Red Nose Day and the work it does is very well respected. My suggestion is that if anyone want to send me $2 (or £1.25) I will mail one to them and give the proceeds after postage to the charity. The red dot, which is very similar to the Leica red dot, will serve as recognition where ever LUGers meet, and be doing some good. Email me with your pledge then I can get the nose and wait for the $2 etc. Gerry (UK)
