[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Marc, When I lived in the U.S., I happily adapted to the irrational system of Imperial measurements, figuring that Americans must be very good at doing calculations in their heads since they insist of sticking with a system that requires you to do things like multiplying by 16 to go from ounces to pounds, instead of a nice rational system used in the rest of the world where you always merely move a decimal point to go from one measure to another. But fear not, even the U.S. will see the light some day and will complete the American Revolution by getting rid of the system stemming from the old mother country. The now common 2 liter soft drink bottles are definitive proof that the traditionalists have lost the war.
