The other suggestion I'd make is to buy a lead bag for protecting film just
in case you can't get a hand inspection for any reason.  You should keep
the lead bag in your hand luggage, of course.  You should put the film
inside a plastic bag in the lead bag, so you can remove it quickly for hand
inspection.
