As a lab rat in a minilab, I can see many of the problems and complaints people have about 1 hour labs. Ours is a Wolf Camera lab and we pride ourselves on delivering a quality product. We charge three times as much as the drugstores and Wallyworld, but we have a steady flow of satisfied customers who expect and get good results- or depending on their talents, the best possible results from what we get! We monitor our chemicals with control strips, and if any action is taken, I run control strips every two hours to monitor the processes. We balance our master channel each morning, and make corrections for paper changes if necessary. We balance the other channels on a weekly basis. I have received many compliments on the quality of my work, and even received a flowering plant from satisfied customer who was happy that I did a rush job for her presentation and finished in 45 minutes ( right before the store closed!)! If you do find a minilab that gives you the results you like- stick with them, and tell them you appreciate their efforts- we feel good knowing that we're doing a good job! Talk to them- we know the special needs of our regulars. There are some who like a more saturated, slightly more dense print, some like the 'light and airy' as one person put it, and we try to do all the work to the total satisfaction of the customer. With the prices we charge, they deserve it! With the care we take, they get it! Dan
