Rikard,

The M-grip is made of plastic, so it adds little weight. I find it an absolutely
indispensable accessory. The handling of the camera (and the risk of dropping it
when taking it out of the bag) improves tremendously. The added benefit is that
your tripod socket is not in the centre instead of off  to the side.
