Eric,

I have a copy of the test you are referring to.  It was M lenses 35, 50, and
75.  Pop photo rated them exceptionally high.  There was no direct
comparison to another makers' lens in that test.  Justthe 3 Leica lenses.

No, that's not the test I was talking about, but I'm sure you're right. 

I think it was the 75 Summilux or 90 Summicron M. Along with the 35
Summilux (not ASPH) and 50 Summicron M. None of those lenses were
considered anywhere near as good as to competition.
