Well, I guess this what differentiates Leica from "gadgets". In all fairness, the
Ricoh SLR referred to is a cheap one. But as far as I know, there are also much
more expensive Japanese cameras which are not repairable after 10 years. I would
find it utterly unacceptable.

The Leica is for me a mental antidote from our consumerist throw-away culture
(aside from being a wonderful picture-taking tool).
